5,000 aggie and aquamarine business leaders sign on for CARAT Expo 2016
Close to 5,000 big and small businesses from the agriculture and aquamarine industries are gearing for the CARAGA Agri Trade and Marketing Expo 2016 (CARAT Expo 2016) which will happen on November 2016.
The event, spearheaded by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) seeks to open more windows of opportunities for participants who belong to the industry.
“This 2016 CARAT Expo is the right venue to identify and find new market opportunities to create interest and draw in marketers and investors for the agricultural sector,” said Jernalita P. Silaga, Trade and Industry Development Specialist of DTI 13 at the launching of the event held at the DTI Region 13 office.
Agriculture and aquaculture are seen as a major factor in the region’;s economic growth. Having the major players participate in the event allows leaders from both the producer and consumer sector to identify more markets to expand their businesses.
Aside from the PCCI and the DTI, the event is also supported by the Department of Agriculture (DA), National Economic Development Authority (NEDA), Department of Science and Technology, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), and the Caraga Chambers of Commerce in coordination with various local government units (LGUs) in Caraga region.
