There is a faster and healthier way to lose weight and it can actually be found on the supermarket aisles and not the drugstore.
A recent study conducted by Harvard researchers reveal that eating blueberries and apples actually aid weight loss.
According to the study, which analyzed data from 124,086 participants from the period of 1986 to 2011, these fruits that are rich in flavonoids that actually prevent weight gain.
“Our results suggest that choosing high flavonoid fruits and vegetables, such as apples, pears, berries, and peppers, may help with weight control,” Monica Bertoia, of the Department of Nutrition at Harvard T H Chan School of Public Health, said.
She however clarified that the flavonoids actually do not cause drastic weight loss. Still, these lost pounds can still contribute to reaching one’s ideal weight.
Based on the research, of the seven flavonoid subgroups found in fruits and vegetables, the anthocyanins class found in berries was linked to the greatest amount of weight loss.
In order to maximize the flavanoid’s weight loss potentials, Bertoia recommended the consumption of half a cup of blueberries daily which is already equivalent to 120 milligrams of anthocyanin.
