Max’s Group signs up partner to set up 5 Pancake House stores in Qatar
Max’s Group Inc. has signed an agreement with a Doha-based food and beverage company, Hamad and Sons General Trading Group, to set up at least five Pancake House stores in Qatar.
In a statement, Max’s Group said it is bent on increasing its footprint in the Middle East and hopes to repeat the success it had with its flagship brand, Max’s, and is confident of its partnership with a well-established Middle Eastern food retailer.
“We are excited to bring another loved brand to Qatar. Our first Max’s Restaurant in Al Saad registered record-breaking sales and remains one of our best performing overseas store.
We are optimistic in replicating that success with Pancake House,” Max’s Group president and CEO Robert Trota said in a statement.
The Doha-headquartered Hamad & Sons is a food and beverage company established in 2008.
The company is looking to grow its business by bringing in new brands to Qatar.
“We look forward to bringing the most popular casual dining restaurant brand in the Philippines to Qatar, a pioneer in the pancakes and waffle dining concept with focus on comfort food like fried chicken, fish, tacos, pastas, and spaghetti,” Hamad & Sons executive vice president Hamad Al-Dosari said. “We know that this culinary delight will work well in Qatar, which hosts a large Filipino community. Pancake House will be a big hit with a chance to present it to other diverse nationalities living in Doha.”
He said Pancake House’s ‘adaptable’ food profile will quickly make it among Qatar’s top restaurants.
Earlier this year, Max’s Group signed an agreement to put up 15 Yellow Cab Pizza shops in China within five years.
The company has signed seven development contracts for Max’s Restaurant, Pancake House, Yellow Cab Pizza, and Sizzlin’ Steak that will add at least 85 more shops in the pipeline.
“Our international business continues to gain momentum. So far, we are on track to meet our target of 200 stores abroad by 2020, or perhaps even earlier,” Trota said. (By: Eileen A. Mencias)
