Aldub rice soon ready for harvest
Pretty soon, PhilRice’s Aldub rice will be ready for harvest.
The rice paddy art, which features the images of television personalities Maine Mendoza and Alden Richards, collectively known as Aldub (Alden and Yaya Dub) will be ready for harvest on April 3.
The rice paddy, which has become an instant tourist attraction since it opened last March 15 in the FutureRice Farm in Muñoz, Nueva Ecija, was inspired by Kalyeserye sensation who became the design specimen for the paddy art.
The project made use of the anamorphis principle or “an art technique used for a distorted artwork that will only appear normal when viewed from a certain angle” and used different varieties of rice strategically laid out throughout the rice paddy to form the image.
The effort was made to encourage millennials to take a more active interest in rice farming.
