Alliance Select Foods holds ASM, elects new chair
Alliance Select Foods International Inc., a listed seafood importer and exporter, has finally held its annual stockholders meeting on March 1, 2016 after months of delay, and elected Antonio C. Pacis as its new chairman.
Pacis, a lawyer who graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University, is a director of BDO Unibank Inc. and the corporate secretary of Armstrong Securities and EGC Strategic Holdings Corp.
Jonathan Dee resigned as chair of Alliance Select Foods on February 1, 2016.
The other directors elected to Alliance Select Foods board are: Joseph Peter Y. Roxas, Raymond K.H. See, George E. Sycip, and Maria Grace T. Vera Cruz. Dobbin A. Tan and Erwin M. Elechicon were chosen as independent directors.
Sycip remains as vice-chairman.
The board approved the management report and the audited financial statements for the year ending December 31, 2014, ratified and approved the acts of the board and its executive officers for the year, and appointed Reyes Tacandong & Co. as independent external auditor for 2015.
Roxas was elected chair of the nominations committee, Elechicon as chair of the compensation/remuneration committee, Tan as chair of the audit committee, and Pacis of chair of the executive committee.
Alliance Select Foods originally scheduled its annual stockholders meeting for December last year but the Singaporean investors in the firm secured a temporary restraining order that prevented the company from holding the meeting. The TRO expired on February 16, 2016. (By: Eileen A. Mencias)
