Israeli firms bring irrigation, agro-tech to parched PH
The Israeli embassy in cwill host an agro-delegation on March 30-31 to help Philippine companies produce more food despite limited water, arable land and unfavorable climate conditions.
Israel’s Ambassador Effie Ben Matityau said the Israeli agro-business delegation consists of eight companies with expertise in irrigation, aquaculture technology, poultry equipment and supplies, seeds and propagation materials, and post-harvest treatment.
Netafim Ltd. will offer its expertise in drip and micro-irrigation.
Metzerplas Cooperative Agricultural Organization Ltd. will bring its experience in agricultural and landscaping products and turn-key irrigation projects.
The other companies are Agrotop Ltd., Bermad, BioFishency Ltd., Eshet Eilon, ShneorSeed Ltd., and Tefen Flow and Dosing Technologies.
Israel has developed its small arable land area through state-of-the-art irrigation and agricultural knowhow, enabling itself to become self-sufficient in fruits, vegetables and poultry.
“Our farmers and scientists work together and develop a highly productive agro-economy with optimal use of water, very efficient irrigation technology and techniques, and unique management systems, all in an impressive production chain,” Matityau said.
