New UFC champion is powered by plants: PETA
Vegans make ultimate fighting champions.
The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) proudly declared in its website that Nate Diaz, a vegan, has beaten undefeated “carnivore” Conor McGregor in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Saturday.
Diaz showed he is no softie, PETA said, after choking McGregor into submission before a stunned MGM Grand Arena to steal the UFC title.
PETA noted that McGregor had strong words about vegan Diaz before their fight, vowing to “eat his (Diaz) carcass in front of all his gazelle friends.”
“[H]e coaches kids’ jiu jitsu on a Sunday morning and goes on bike rides with the elderly,” it also quoted McGregor as describing Diaz.
The pro-animal group said McGregor ate his words after Diaz kicked is “asparagus.”
“After all of Conor McGregor’s jaw-flapping about how ‘soft’ Nate Diaz is, today carnivore McGregor is probably still feeling Diaz’s plant-powered punches,” it said in its post.
PETA said Diaz showed class after his win, thanking McGregor and his supporters, including vegetarian fighter and PETA friend Jake Shields.
“Seems like there’s a lot to be said for guys whose hearts match their biceps,” it added.
