SikatPinoy National Food Fair slated for March 16 to 20 in Megamall
Looking to discover the latest in Filipino food? Then, mark your calendars for the SikatPinoy National Food Fair scheduled on March 16 to 20.
The event is organized by the Department of Trade and Industry’s Bureau of Domestic Trade Promotion and will be held at the Megatrade Halls 1 to 3 in SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.
The theme for this year is “Piling-Piling Pagkaing Pilipino.”
The event brings together micro, small, and medium enterprises and aims to promote their produce and help them develop relationships with trade producers.
Some 150 exhibitors are expected to join the event.
The SikatPinoy National Food Fair showcases products of local entrepreneurs who make various food products that pass the standards of the Food and Drug Administration. The event also provides them the opportunity to network and test their products in the local market and gear them for the possibility of penetrating global markets.
“Our food and beverage sector has so much potential right now in the global market. With various promotion initiatives such as this, the sector is always set to go higher. We hope that food entrepreneurs in the country will exploit every opportunity given to them to further develop their business ventures both in the domestic and global market,” Trade Undersecretary Nora K. Terrado said in a statement.
Aside from food products such as meat, fish, processed fruits and vegetables, and beverages, health and wellness products will also be featured during the fair.
Last year’s SikatPinoy National Food Fair generated sales of over P10 million. Snack foods were the biggest earner, followed by fresh and processed fruit and vegetable products. (Eileen A. Mencias)
