Elizabeth Hurley turns headlights on homegrown chicken
Elizabeth Hurley is, hands down, the most glamorous farmer around.
How can anyone compete? One, she’s a supermodel. Two, she’s got the accent.
Elizabeth bought her 400-plus acre Gloucestershire property in 2003 when she was still dating Indian textile heir Arun Nayar. Her bridal registry did not consist of the usual wedding gifts: she asked guests to purchase fruit trees and farm animals in lieu of fancy gifts.
At that time, she decided to quit her acting career to concentrate on the property which she converted into an organic farm. According to the Daily Mail, Elizabeth started producing her own range of low-calorie, low-fat organic snacks. Her first products were oat and fruit snack bars and beef jerky from cattle grown in her organic farm. She soon sold organic meats and veggies under her label “Elizabeth Hurley Foods.” Shortly after, Prince Charles teamed up with her to create a new range of healthy, organic food under the Prince’s Duchy Originals line using organic meat from her farm.
She has since divorced and the Gloucestershire property has since been sold (–she decided to concentrate on another country property, 40 miles away) but she continues to enjoy country living.
