Marathon training food for newbies from Erwan

Celebrity chef Erwan Heussaff has some simple advice for newbies to the world of sports, hydrate and hydrate well.

Erwan, who recently registered for the Caramoan 10 KM Swim Challenge has already begun his training and workout for the event which is slated to happen at the Gota Village Resort in Caramoan, Pili, Camarines Sur on August 21.

“10km marathon swim training starts today.

A lot of people ask me what they should eat before a workout, honestly, if it’s under 90mins, I’ll just have lots of water, coffee and this natural sports drink we are working on (turmeric, pineapple, Green coffee beans, etc…). Your body is capable of more than you give it credit for,” he said.

So there you have it folks, hydrate, and power up with nutritious fruit smoothies and you’ll be good to go, but make sure to steer clear of unhealthy foods which may weigh you down for the training and the marathon itself.
