Abaca exports rise 3.1% to $115 M last year
MANILA, Philippines – Philippine abaca exports rose 3.1 percent to $114.7 million last year.
According to data released by the Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority the value of outbound raw fibers reached $19.2 million, up 36.7 percent from a year earlier.
Earnings from pulp amounted to $79.4 million, accounting for more than two-thirds of total abaca exports. The amount was 11.7 percent higher than the $71 million recorded in 2014.
