Cebu earmarks P6.1M for fisheries
The Cebu provincial government allotted at least P6.1 million this year for marine and inland fishery projects.
The Philippine Information Agency reported that Gov. Hilario Davide III, who was given a fresh mandate in the recent elections, wants to improve marine production and curb poverty in the fishery sector.
A law has just been signed providing for the creation of a multi-specie marine hatchery in Bantayan island in Cebu.
