Chef Shigeki Iimura introduces Nikkei cuisine at Buddha-Bar Manila
Filipinos get a chance to try world-class, Japanese-Peruvian Nikkei cuisine at the Buddha-Bar Manila, until June 17, 2016.
Chef Shigeki Iimura, Buddha Bar Group’s Corporate Japanese Chef, hosts a meet-and-greet event, offering a wide range of modern Asian delicacies at the Buddha-Bar Manila, the Inquirer reports. The celebrated international chef offers Nikkei cuisine to local foodies, a popular cooking technique combining Japanese and Peruvian style of cooking.
Diners will get a live kitchen action and a unique gastro experience, where fresh and authentic Nikkei delicacies will be served directly from the renowned chef’s kitchen, said the publication. Some of the items on the menu include Mixed Lentils, Miso Black Cod, Black Corn Puree, Grilled Beef Tenderloin Steak and Black Sesame Souffle.
Chef Shigeki’s childhood was mostly spent in the kitchen, being born from a family of restaurateurs. He had been exposed to Nikkei cuisine as a child since his family owned and operated a restaurant in Tokyo. This experience honed his experience in selecting fresh fish produce, and trying different styles of cooking. He developed his skills through 35 years of experience.
