Farmers, rural areas part of Duterte’s econ agenda
Rural development is one of the focus areas in presumptive president Rodrigo Duterte’s eight-point economic agenda.
This was bared during a press conference in Davao City by Carlos Dominguez, one of his economic advisers.
The other highlights of the incoming administration’s roadmap are taxes, infrastructure, and social services.
Dominguez said Davao City will be used as a model for doing business.
He said the rural areas will be developed by giving support services to small farmers and promoting tourism in the rural areas.
He also said foreign investment will be enticed to the rural areas by ensuring security of land tenure. He said the bottlenecks in land administration will have to be addressed.
