That’s enough seeding
Following pronouncements that the rainy season has started, the Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Soils and Water Management (BWSM) has stopped cloud-seeding operations in the Negros Island region.
The Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Regional Watch said rains have started pouring over the parched sugarcane lands in Negros.
There were still five more hours to go in the 45-hour cloud-seeding operations for the region when cloud-seeding was stopped.
Earlier, Negros Occidental Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. complained that the heat due to the El Niño has affected the quality of sugarcane so much so that cane juice yield is lower.
