Pakyawan: Billionaire Olive Limpe-Aw vows to buy Mangyans’ calamansi
Billionaire Olive Limpe-Aw, who runs the country’s oldest distillery, has vowed to buy the calamansi harvests of Mangyans living in the mountains of Pola, Oriental Mindoro.
Limpe-Aw joined Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol in a visit to Mindoro island last week.
“Destileria Limtuaco heiress Olivia Limpe-aw who joined the trip promised to buy their products,” Piñol said.
Destileria Limtuaco was established in 1852 in Binondo, brewing the legendary Sioktong which it named Vino de Chino, from a variety of Chinese herbs. The brew was popular among men and women and was seen as an energy drink that builds up stamina.
Destileria Limtuaco produces Manille Liqueur de Calamansi that was introced to APEC leaders and delegates in Manila last year together with its Manille Liqueur de Dalandan.
