Cebu pushes artificial insemination to boost dairy, beef output
The Cebu provincial government distributed artificial insemination kits and other equipment to 49 agricultural technicians as part of its campaign to make the province self-sufficient in dairy and cattle production.
The province’s website said each AI kit, amounting to almost P10,000, consisted of two AI guns and one thermos with thermometer and retriever.
It was the first time the provincial government distributed AI equipment to veterinary officials in its towns and cities.
Cebu officials also gave goats to 29 recipients, and veterinary supplies to each municipality and city in the province.
The vet supplies include dewormer for large animals such as cows, goats and carabaos; injectible and water-soluble vitamin supplies; and antibiotics for livestock
