Chefmanship Academy goes to CDO
The Unilever Food Solutions in cooperation with the Philippine Chefs Association, made its Chefmanship Academy available to Cagayan de Oro City in line with its mission to extend and proliferate modern trends and awareness in the restaurant industry, Sun Star reported.
“We believe that CdeO has been on the spotlight here in Mindanao as one of the top places for food businesses. The chefs and food service operators in this city are very varied and creative from having sea side grills in the outskirts of the city to fun snackbars and restos in the city proper. We think that it is about time that we hold the Chefmanship Academy in Cagayan so that the chefs and business operators here can benefit from it.” Willie Datu, marketing manager for Unilever Food Solutions, said in a report by Sun Star.
Started in 2008 as a traveling seminar workshop for food service operators and chefs, the Chefmanship Academy has since been on the road to key cities in the country inclding Cebu, Davao and Iloilo.
“It is our aim to provide a straightforward learning program featuring food and industry trend updates that are practical and relevant to the food business.” Unilever Food Solutions Executive Chef Joanne Limoanco-Gendrano said in the report.
The seminar was participated by various chefs and food business operators from Cagayan de Oro and Iligan cities and Bukidnon.
The Chefmanship Academy included module discussions from speaker chefs about food business matters including diner behaviors, price costing, latest food trends, and even food presentation, the report said.
