Emperador declares P2.7B cash dividend
Andrew Tan’s Emperador Inc. declared a cash dividend totalling some P2.7 billion payable to shareholders of record as of August 1, 2016.
In a disclosure to the stock exchange today, Emperador CFO Dina Inting said the company’s board of directors declared the cash dividend amounting to P0.1688 per share that will be taken from the company’s unrestricted earnings as of December 31, 2016.
The cash dividend will be paid out on or before August 18, 2016.
Emperador is now among the world’s largest whisky makers after it bought Beam Suntory’s sherry and Spanish brandy business last year. The acquisition included the brands Fundador, Terry Centenario, Tres Cepas, and Harveys as well as its production facilities, ageing cellars, vineyards, and blending and bottling facilities.
