Go beyond copra and charcoal, coco farmers told
Coconut industry stakeholders will hold a summit on July 27 and 28 at the SMX Convention Center in SM Lanang, Davao City to discuss the challenges and opportunities presented by the Duterte administration.
Reynaldo Go, chairman of the Coconut Industry Cluster Inc. in the Davao region, expressed optimism that coconut producers will find their value added in two-day summit.
Go was quoted by BusinessMirror as saying that coconut farmers should move up from copra products and charcoal and produce high-value products such as coco coir, coco sugar, coconut water, and virgin coconut oil.
He said coconut farmers should improve production through better farm management.
