Pacquiao’s lawyer to join DA
The personal lawyer of Sen. Manny Pacquiao, Atty. Tom Falgui, is joining the Department of Agriculture as consultant on fisheries.
Falgui is among those picked by Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol to join him in the department.
Aside from Falgui, the other officials joining Piñol are: retired Commodore Eduardo Gongona as director for the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources and as undersecretary for fisheries, retired Admiral Joey Casilia who will also serve as a consultant on fisheries.
Piñol is also bringing his brother, Ferdinand “Bobong” Piñol, to be his executive assistant in the department.
He also recommended Engineer C’zar Sulaik, a former regional executive director of the National Irrigation Administration for CARAGA, to head the NIA, and Atty. Domngo Duerme, a former vice president of Philippine Airlines in Mindanao, to head the National Food Authority.
Piñol has announced that he is retaining Undersecretaries Segfredo Serrano and Bernadette Romulo-Puyat.
The other new officials in the agriculture department are: Evelyn Lavinia as Undersecretary for Agribusiness an High Value Crops; Ranibai Delangalen as Undersecretary for Special Concerns; Atty. Francisco Villano Jr. as Assistant Secretary for Finance; former priest Father Lerey Panes as the Assistant Secretary for Planning, Project Development and Special Projects; Atty. Hansel Didulo as Assistant Secretary for the Visayas; Dr. Enrico Garzon as Assistant Secretary for Livestock; and Richard “Bong” Año II as Assistant Secretary for Operations.
