Science found out the food that can make people happy
They say money can’t buy us happiness. Well, science says these food can.
Researchers at the University of Queensland in Australia and University of Warwick in England recently found that higher consumption of fruits and vegetables can significantly increase a person’s happiness.
The results, which Science Daily said will be published shortly in the American Journal of Public Health, found that each additional portion of fruits and vegetables—up to 8 portions a day—enlivens the mood of the subject.
Science Daily said that was one of the first major scientific research that evaluated how fruits and vegetables can aide psychological health, other than physical health issues.
“Eating fruit and vegetables apparently boosts our happiness far more quickly than it improves human health,” author Andrew Oswald said.
About 12,000 randomly selected people were engaged in the study, who had detailed food diaries and notes on general psychological health throughout years 2007, 2009, and 2013.
Consuming these fresh foods, the researchers found, is associated with enhanced happiness of the subject. Results of the study show zero fruits and vegetables daily consumption to an increase of eight portions, would have a mood impact similar to someone moving from unemployment to finally landing a job.
Let’s feast on some fruits and veggies, shall we?
