StrEAT journal: Funnel cake 101

For its first entry, StrEAT journal featured funnel cakes, a popular dessert that Black Sugar serves.

Funnel cakes are typically prepared by pouring batter into heated cooking oil in a circular technique and deep frying the overlapping mass until it eventually turns golden-brown.
“Funnel cakes are famous in the U.S. as a ‘go-to’ snack at theme parks, carnivals and boardwalks.” it added.
Black Sugar is popular for its wide range of funnel cake a la mode, offered in various flavors including apple pie, bacon maple and toffee banoffee.
Black Sugar is open Tuesday to Sunday, 5PM to 2AM at Maginhawa StrEAT food park.
