World Food Expo to open on Aug3 in SMX and World Trade Center
The country’s biggest food show, World Food Expo, will simultaneously occupy both the World Trade Center and the SMX Convention Center when it opens on August 3.
The World Trade Center had exclusively hosted the World Food Expo for the past 15 years but organizers have decided to divide the markets/activities into either a trade activity that will be limited to commercial and institutional buyers or for consumers.
WOFEX at the World Trade Center will cater mainly to commercial and institutional buyers while the WOFEX at the SMX Convention Center, dubbed as the WOFEX Marketplace, is open to all trade buyers and the general public.
Among the highlights of the expo are the Philippine Culinary Cup, the Wofex University, the Kitchen Theater, and the World Food Summit.
The Philippine Culinary Cup is the only culinary competition in the country certified by the World Association of Chefs Societies.
In the Wofex University, industry practitioners will provide their insights on the industry and share their expertise to food service professionals.
The Kitchen Theater is a cooking demo that focuses on the products on exhibit and the World Food Summit is a series of conferences and workshops focusing on trends and other industry concerns.
