Agri smuggling should stop – JV Ejercito
Senator JV Ejercito emphasized the need to upgrade and modernize agriculture by putting a halt on smuggling.
In a report by Northbound Asia, the senator also stressed the importance of use of nuclear power to deliver the country’s power needs during a recent visit in Legaspi to hold talks with the youth.
“We really need to modernize our agriculture but we need to cut on the smuggling first. Our agriculture is dying because of smuggling,” he said during a press conference after the youth forum.
Ejercito also talked about the stagnant Bataan Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) in same media conference which he said should be recovered to address the needs of the country’s power demand.
The youth forum that mostly delved on the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Reform Law took place at the Ibalong Conference Room at the Legazpi City Hall compound in Legazpi.
Ejercito, the economic affairs committee chairperson in the Senate, penned Senate Bill 2923 which gives stricter penalties on agricultural products illegal importation.
