DICT eyed as ASEAN transshipment port

ANFLO Management & Investment Corp., the holding company of the Mindanao conglomerate Floirendo Group, said the company will continue to expand, especially on its world-class container port facility, to serve the economic growth of the country’s second largest island grouping, which is anchored on agriculture.

Alexander Valoria, president & CEO of Anflo Management & Investment Corp. told the Philippines-US Business Council meeting yesterday, that the Davao International Container Terminal (DICT) has a handling capacity of over 800,000 TEUs and is considered the most modern port facility in the country.

Valoria even said that there is a strong move to make Davao a transshipment port in ASEAN because of the congestion in Singapore.
“International companies are looking at DICT so that speaks very well of the strategic location of Mindanao as logistics hub in Asean,” said Valoria.

“Mindanao is on the rise and Anflocor will continue to expand. I hope you will join us there,” Valoria added.
