PH’s high value crops come from Mindanao
Mindanao produces significant portion of high value crops in the Philippines.
Data shows that majority or 99.96 percent of the country’s rubber are produced in Mindanao.
More than 90 percent of the country’s cacao come from Mindanao, particularly in Davao.
With the presence of Dole and Del Monte, the world’s leading pineapple producers, 88.98 percent of the country’s pineapple production are from Mindanao.
The country’s second largest island accounts for more than 88 percent of total oil palm production and 82.88 percent of total bananas.
At least 61 percent of coconuts and 19.5 percent of poultry are sourced from Mindanao.
