Piñol seeks Tugade help to deplane off Clark
Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol was among those whose flight was diverted to Clark last Friday.
He was on a Cebu Pacific flight from Davao to Manila. Because of poor visibility, the plane headed to Clark where it was supposed to wait until it gets a clearance from Manila.
Apparently, Piñol missed his first flight that was supposed to be at 9am and there is no way of telling when the plane will be allowed to go back to Manila. With three appointments in Manila and another flight back to Davao, Piñol asked the cabin crew to allow him to get off in Clark so he can take a car to Manila. When they said no, he did what anyone would. Find someone he knows who could help him deplane from Clark.
Lucky him, it was Secretary Art Tugade. So, he called his friend. Several more calls were made and the captain of the plane eventually allowed him and three others without check in baggage to deplane.
Ikaw na Sec. Piñol!
