Pinoy cuisine, to be showcased in Qatar
Filipinos in Qatar can finally find a way to celebrate Pinoy culture and food at the Kulinarya Qatar this September.
Kulinarya Qatar aims to promote economic diplomacy through cuisine, put Filipino food into the Arab mainstream, and more importantly, raise appreciation and awareness of the Philippines as a business, tourist and trade destination, the Gulf Times reported.
Kulinarya Qatar 2016, its second year, will be holding a three-day event under the theme Tightening the bond of the Filipino Community through food and culture, the report said. The report also added that the event is gaining terrific traction across the country.
As of the moment, more than 15 have confirmed their involvement in the event, out of the 35 Filipino restaurants in Qatar that will take place at The Westin Doha Hotel & Spa from September 13 to 15, from 10am to 10pm.
Created as Filipino Community Family Day & Food Festival, its main events include Little Miss Kulinarya Qatar Finals, Glow Zumba with celebrity artistes, Junior Master Chef finals, Pasiklaban fruit-carving, the best of Kulinarya Qatar menu, celebrities shoot for a cause, celebrities dance workshop, Batang Pinoy play area, health and fitness activities, and other entertaining programmes.
Kulinarya Qatar is established by the Philippine Embassy Doha under Philippine ambassador Wilfredo C Santos, the report said.
