Pinoy products, to be showcased in Malaysia
Mindanao and Palawan-based micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) will showcase their products during a four-day event in Malaysia.
Sabah International Expo (SIE) 2016 is a renowned trade fair set to take place on September 15 to 18 in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Sun Star reported.
More than 20 MSMEs had already confirmed participation to the international expo which is projected to draw some 80,000 goers globally.
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) will help in handling the participation of the MSMEs and will fund the booth rental which is expected to be around P60,000 per booth.
The participation of the MSMEs aims to link Philippine products to the international markets, Sun Star said.
“This will be the first SIE where DTI-Mindanao and Palawan will be sending in products and SMEs to Sabah,” said Marilou Laguting, DTI-Davao chief of staff.
The main objective of SIE is “to provide a platform for exhibitors from near and far to meet, to establish business contacts, to showcase latest products and services from the Bimp-Eaga specifically and Asean broadly. This year’s expo is centered on the theme: “Sabah – Hub for the Far East.”
Some of the products to be highlighted include coco sugar, virgin coconut oil (VCO) and coco water which are already ready to attract international market.
