MJ Lastimosa takes the herring challenge in NL

When in The Netherlands, do as the locals do.

This is exactly what former Binibining Pilipinas MJ Lastimosa did during a trip to the

European country when she fearlessly sampled a local delicacy, the herring.

Soused herrings are young immature herrings soaked in mild vinegar or a mixture of cider,

wine or tea, sugar, herbs, onion and spices before they are eaten.

“This is raw fish. I never eat raw,” MJ said in the video snap she posted on her Instagram,

then “I don’t know how to feel about it. That’s good,” after she took a bite.

Definitely a first time for everything MJ. We’re glad your bravery paid off.
