US sees huge F&B market in PH
The US government is promoting its high value food and beverage products in the Philippines, a key market in Southeast Asia and the 10th largest globally for US agricultural products.
In a statement, the US Embassy in Manila also cited the Philippines as it largest market in Southeast Asia for high-value US food and beverage (F&B) products.
F&B exports are projected to remain strong due to a robust Philippine economy, steady growth in the country’s retail, foodservice and food processing sectors, and consumer familiarity with American brands.
As such, Chargé d’Affaires Michael S. Klecheski hosted at his residence on Thursday “The Great American Barbecue–Texas Style” trade reception.
The event featured renowned chef Jay McCarthy and showcased the availability, variety, and applications of high-value U.S. food and beverage products. Guests were served a wide array of barbecued meats like Barbequed Smoked Beef Riblets with St. Louis Sauce. Also featured are the following menu items: Beef, Chicken and Beer Bath Sausages, Pastrami with Rye Bread, Baked Ham with Pan de Sal, Salmon on Cedar Plank, Corn on the Cob with Salted Maple Butter, Roasted Garlic and Cheddar Mashed Potatoes, Salted Caramel Cheesecake, Mini Crepe Bars with Strawberries, Peaches and Whipped Cream. For added American style, the sumptuous dishes will be paired with a range of fine U.S. wines, craft beers, and sodas.
The event will be carried out in partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service, U.S. Meat Export Federation, Texas Beef Council, U.S. exporters, and local partners including Bestworld Beverage Brands, Bugle Boy Distributors, Emperador Distillers, Forth and Tay, and Happy Living Philippines.
