The annual Chocolate Festival opened in Davao City on Oct. 14.

Sunstar reported that the event, which was organized by the Cacao Industry Development Association in Mindanao (Cidami) and SM City Davao, will run until Oct. 16.

The Chocolate Festival seeks to generate more interests on locally-made chocolates and other cacao-based products.

Valente Turtur, Cidami executive director and chair of the newly-formed Philippine Cacao Industry Development Council, was quoted by the report as saying that the event will feature taste tests, cacao processing and chocolate production techniques, and world-class chocolates from more than 20 exhibitors.
