Chef Tatung releases much-awaited Philippine cookbook
As product of 7 years of research and hard work, Chef Michael “Tatung” Sarthou finally released his cookbook, Philippine Cookery: From Heart to Platter.
Chef Tatung’s Philippine Cookery: From Heart to Platter, published by ABS-CBN publishing, is a comprehensive cookbook that touches not only recipes, but also history and creative ways to utilize ingredients.
The book is notable not only for its line of recipes, but also in the way he explains the methods of cooking, their history in the light of Filipino cooking, and how to use them, beyond the recipes he gives.
The book, Chef Tatung reveals to Sun Star, was a product of 7 years’ worth of sweat, with the help of the University of the Philippines.
Chef Tatung, once a contributor to Sun Star, has been known as very generous chef in sharing his expertise and guiding his reader to comprehend the various methods of cooking, as well as how to properly use the ingredients incorporated in the dishes.
