Chef Tatung, to host new PH cuisine history show
Chef Tatung Sarthou will be hosting The Food That We Are, a Lifestyle TV four-part special that will allow Filipinos to be part of a unique gasto adventure.
The Food That We Are is based on the native Cebuano’s book by ABS-CBN Publishing titled From Heart to Platter that aims to help Filipinos comprehend the deep-seated culture of Philippine cuisine. Chef Tatung spearheads the exploration by outlining the ancestral roots of the Filipino people to learn the history behind key Philippine dishes like tinuktok, Manila Standard said in a report.
In the Lifestyle four part special, viewers see how the wide cultural influences helped in shaping Filipino cuisine, how ancient cooking practices were upheld, and the significance of traditional ingredients in the modern Filipino cooking.
“This show is close to my heart because I am passionate about Philippine cuisine. I want Filipinos to appreciate the vibrant culture and history of how our delectable dishes came to be through this in-depth exploration,” Chef Tatung told Manila Standard.
