Duterte’s choice: Jollibee or McDonald’s?
“Do you eat Jollibee or McDonald’s?” a Japanese reporter asked President Duterte before he left for an official visit to Japan.
The reporter pronounced “Jollibee” as “Jubilee,” ABS-CBN News reported.
But Duterte, not wanting to be drawn into the burger war between home-grown Jollibee and American food giant McDonald’s picked neither.
No burger can replace his favorite “maruya” (fried ripe plantains in batter and dusted with sugar).
“Frankly, I do not eat the, really…seldom. Very often. I stick to to bibingka and maruya, native dish,” he said.
