Enough rice for Lawin-damaged areas, says NFA head
National Food Authority officer-in-charge Tomas Escarez assured that enough rice stocks have been positioned in warehouses directly affected by super typhoon Lawin.
Escarez said the NFA has a standing memorandum of agreement with relief agencies to withdraw rice from NFA warehouses during emergencies.
He said he has ordered field personnel to guard NFA offices, stocks and personnel against possible danger. He added that 24-hour response and regular weather monitoring have been activated.
