Fish, vegetable prices double
Prices of fish and vegetables doubled because of the damage caused by typhoons Karen and Lawin to northern Luzon provinces that supply food to Metro Manila.
ABS-CBN News reported that fish in Metro Manila markets are frozen, not fresh, but are still expensive.
Though roads are passable, fresh vegetables are not abundant because floods and rain damaged plantations up north. Even eggplants are sourced from Davao, but prices are high.
Market vendors are complaining because of the lack of supply and the need to shell out more capital.
