Pinoy cuisine showcased in Vietnam food fest
Filipino produce and cuisine recently took center stage at the Department of Agriculture’s agricultural roadshow called “Linamnam: Flavors of the Philippines” Food Festival at the Oven d’Or Restaurant of the Sheraton Hanoi Hotel in Tay Ho District, Hanoi, Vietnam.
The agricultural roadshow, which seeks to raise awareness on Filipino food, will run until Oct. 16. It spans several Asean countries.
The Filipino dishes were prepared under the supervision of Chef Arnold Bernardo, an executive chef and winner of the “Ultimate Chef Warrior” a reality TV cooking competition in the Philippines in 2010.
Vietnamese media were treated to a five-course lunch, which included descriptions of the food and how they were prepared.
Philippine Ambassador to Vietnam Noel Servigon highlighted the importance of the food festival in bolstering bilateral trade and in promoting Filipino culture through food.
