Clearance sought for Camarines Norte shellfish

Camarines Norte Provincial Fishery Officer Clemencio Reciproco sought a quarantine clearance for shellfish sold in many markets in the province.

Reciproco was quoted by the Philippine Information Agency as saying that the province’s shellfish supply comes mostly from Sorsogon and Samar, which tested negative of the red tide toxin.

However, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) has raised a red tide alert on shellfish caught from Milagros and Mandaon towns in nearby Masbate province.
