Former DENR secretary resigns from San Miguel board
Former Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Horacio C. Ramos resigned from the board of directors of San Miguel Corporation today.
In a disclosure to the stock exchange, San Miguel said Ramos gave up the seat in the San Miguel board so he can concentrate on his mining concerns.
Ramos wrote a letter dated February 24, 2017 to resign as a member of the board of directors “to devote his time principally to the ongoing projects of Clariden Holdings Inc., in view of recent developments in the mining industry.”
San Miguel received the letter on February 27, 2017.
Ramos has been with the board of San Miguel since June 10, 2010. He is the president of Clariden Holdings. He headed the Department of Environment and Natural Resources from February to June 2010 and was director of mines from 2006 to 2010.
