Gov’t to triple tax on idle lands
President Duterte said he is planning to double or even triple the taxes on idle lands that have not been developed within a decade.
Duterte said if the land is not developed in 10 to 20 years, the owner will face double or triple real estate tax unless the land is lent to the government for public use.
He said some land owners are leaving their properties untouched, hoping that their value will increase.
Duterte made the announcement when he led the launching of the “Hardin ng Lunas” at the PSG Compound in Malacañang.
The PSG shares the produce of its garden with the Hospicio de San Jose, urban poor near Malacañang, and other charitable organizations.
