Buy-one-take-one deals on dairy at Metro supermarket
It’s been weeks since I last stepped into a Metro supermarket. Today, I did after renewing my driver’s license at the LTO branch in Alabang Town Center. I needed to find another grocer to talk about.
Metro supermarket pleasantly surprised me again. There’s nothing like a buy-one-take-one deal to make me happy.
The French bread was on buy-one-take-one at P65 which means a loaf is just P32.50. I like crusty bread. And, crusty bread with butter and cheese is even better.
Today, the Mainland Vintage aged cheddar cheese is on buy-one-take-one too. You get two packs of 250-gram aged cheddar cheese for just P262. They also had grated Perfect Italiano parmesan cheese on buy-one-take-one. They had it in two 125-gram packs for P220 which translates to P110 a pack.
Anchor’s UHT culinary cream and UHT whipping cream were also on buy-one-take-one. Anchor UHT culinary cream costs P285 a liter and the promo translates to P142.50 a liter—a lot cheaper than the 250ml pack of Nestle cream that costs around P45. The 250-gram pack of UHT whipping cream at P126 is not that great a deal because the cream still costs P63 a pack even with the buy-one-take-one offer.
These buy-one-take-one deals are only good until supplies last. If you happen to go to Metro supermarket from March 17 to March 19, they have what they call a sidewalk sale. They’re slashing the price of pork chop to P189 a kilo from P205, cream dory to P83 a kilo from P110, chicken leg quarters to P99 a kilo from P140, chicken thigh at P99 a kilo from P135, pork liver to P55 a kilo from P135, frozen chicken to P115 a kilo from P135, and frozen salmon steak to P695 a kilo from P750 a kilo.
Clearly, pork liver is the best buy for this period but not everyone is into it. I’m going for the culinary cream and the parmesan cheese. This is a good day to make pasta alfredo.
