Rustan’s puts lamb chops and lumpiang shanghai on specials til March 12
I’m beginning to miss Rustan’s Supermarket. Back when it was still a walking distance from my office, I was always aware of the stuff they have on specials, especially the buy-one-take-one offers on meat. When they had the Aussie burger patties on sale, I got myself a pack and did all sorts of wonderful things with it. I also still remember when they put the Australian ribeye on sale.
This week’s no different. I wish it was still walking distance from where I am.
Beginning March 3, its Australian lamb chops are on buy-one-take-one at P699 per kilo. That translates to P349.50 per kilo and almost comparable to beef prices on most grocers. Its lumpiang shanghai is also on buy-one-take-one at P279 per kilo that translates to P138.50 per kilo and so is its frozen cream dory at P239 per kilo that translates to P119.50 per kilo.
If you’re into pork, Rustan’s pork belly inihaw cut is on buy-1 kilo-take 500 grams at P379 per kilo that translates to P253 per kilo and its frozen pork cubes are also on buy-1 kilo-take 500 grams at P329 per kilo that translates to P219 per kilo. The pork offers are not that great because the Department of Agriculture’s monitoring showed that pork liempo averaged at P220 per kilo in wet markets in Metro Manila and pork kasim and pigue averaged at P190 per kilo.
The lamb chops make for an attractive proposition though.
