South Supermarket Alabang’s B1T1 deals on potato chips, soft cheese
If you walk around South Supermarket Alabang, there’s a section where they have the products they put on specials. Some are buy three, take one deals, others are buy two, take one. Some are prepacked goods discounted by the supplier.
It’s two aisles: one between the chocolates and the ice cream, near the imported potato chips and another aisle along the refrigerators where they have the drinks, yogurt, and cheeses.
It’s my favorite part.
Today, I decided to focus only on the buy-one-take-one deals.
small packs of Lay’s potato chips at P40 which means that each pack is just P20. The packs are bigger than the local chips and they come in three flavors: extra barbecue, sweet basil, and spicy cheese. We took all three.
small Coeur de Lion soft cheese. One pack has five and it costs only P180.50. It’s like the Gerard minis of Brie and Camembert and, Milkana cream cheese spreads for P116.25.
These are just the ones that stood out this week. The Coeur de Lion cheese is okay in the same way that the Gerard minis are okay though. But, if you think about, at this price, it’s a good replacement for the locally manufactured cheeses in sachets.
Of course, one cannot live on snacks alone. They had chicken quarters on sale at P114.95 a kilo. Not as good as the price offered by Metro grocery a couple of weeks back but it’s still cheaper than the P140 to P150 per kilo cost of dressed chicken in Metro Manila markets.
