This is what CMO Francis Flores realized that led him to a career with Jollibee

Jollibee Global Brand Chief Marketing Officer Francis E. Flores recently revealed two important life realizations which led him to his career path with the homegrown fast food giant.

Flores, who is one of the people behind the hit Valentine’s Day Jollibee webisodes, told Anthony Pangilinan for CNN’s Boardroom that a life changing moment that made him pursue a career with Jollibee.

He said that he was working as Southeast Asia marketing head for a multi-national FMCG brand for ten years and a delayed flight musings led him life changing decisions.

“Because of that work, I realized two things. First, the growth of an economy is directly proportional to the number of global brands it has. Second was, Filipinos are one of the best Asian marketers in the world. How come we haven’t produced a truly global brand?”, he said during the interview.

He also said that during the time, he was “in a crossroad”, and coincidentally, received a call from his head hunter which eventually led him to his position in one of the fast growing global brands.
When asked about the success of their “hugot” ads, Flores said they weren’t expecting any of it.

“We were also surprised. Personally we were surprised. We didn’t expect it to be that phenomenal”, Flores told Pangilinan.
