Tuna cakes/patties: easy dish to make for lent
Tuna cakes or patties was one of the dishes my brother cooked at home when he shifted from IT to being a chef. He has been working in Australia in IT since the early 1990s and started taking cooking classes in the mid2000s.
When he flew home, he made tuna cakes with garlic mayo that my daughter adored. Since then, it has become a staple baon for her. I only cook the tuna cakes because she was not into dips and sauces back then.
It’s a very simple dish that’s low carb to boot.
Here are the ingredients:
1 can tuna, drained
1 onion, minced (use spring onions if you have them because it makes it prettier)
Ground pepper to taste
Mix the tuna, onion, egg, and ground pepper. Shape into balls and flatten into patties. Fry in hot oil. Flip over when brown. Fish out of the pan and drain.
