6 kilos of chicharon caps Pampanga foodfest
Mall goers of SM City San Fernando recently feasted on six kilos of chicharon by Galan’s, as part of a tribute to one of the oldest chicharon makers in Pampanga.
The crackling pork skin was contained in a four feet by three feet bucket.
Chicharon by Galan’s is owned by Apung Anselmo Galan, one of the province’s first chicharon makers.
Sunstar reported that the chicharon was given away to mall goers as part of a feature on Kapampangan dishes.
The focus on gastronomic adventures in Pampanga is meant to manifest that Pampanga is the Culinary Capital of the Philippines.
