Interesting Buy1-take1 deals at South Supermarket Alabang are back

I didn’t write a thing about my favorite grocer last week because I found their specials bland and disappointing.

This week, I thought I was going to be disappointed. When I saw one of the chillers at South Supermarket Alabang were out of order, I was hoping to see cheese on sale galore. After strolling down the chillers, there was not a cheese on sale. I was going to throw in the towel until I saw buy1-take1 deals further down the aisle.

They had lentil chips from The Daily Crave on buy-one-take-one. It comes in 142-gram bags and they had three flavors: Smoked Gouda, Aged White Cheddar, and Spicy Sriracha. It costs P204 so a bag effectively costs just P102. The bags are as big as the imported Ruffles potato chips bags. I would have gotten one if only the bags weren’t that big. Lentil is high protein so I shouldn’t feel guilty about munching on it.

I went for the Nature’s Bakery Fig Bars and Brownies instead. It was also on buy1-take1. The fig bars (raspberry and strawberry flavor) and the brownies (mint chocolate and double chocolate flavors) cost P38.75. One pack is 56.6 grams and effectively cost just P19.40 each. If the kids are in school, it would be an easy baon. If not, stock them anyway. They need snacks at home too. South Supermarket Alabang also had gluten-free fig bars (pomegranate and blueberry flavors) that cost P44.75.

Another buy1-take1 deal was the dried mixed fruit from Crunchies. It comes in 34-gram bags and cost P231. With the special, it just comes down to P115.50 a pack. It wasn’t interesting for me because dried fruits are too high in sugar.

Next by Nature’s dark chocolate pretzels were also on buy1-take1. An 85-gram bag costs P126.50. With the offer, it’s just P63.25 a pack.

Sunshine Select’s premium mixed nuts 213-gram jars were also on buy1-take1 at P220 a bundle. Mixed nuts do not excite me because it is more peanuts than anything else. I didn’t get any because my dentist has advised me against chewing anything that she considers hard. Would you believe, she doesn’t want me eating potato chips and cheese curls and the like?
