PH, Indonesia agree on agri cooperation, new RORO link
The Philippines and Indonesia signed the memoranda of understanding (MOUS) on agricultural cooperation and the Davao-GenSan-Bitung roll-on roll-off (RORO) link.
The signing was witnessed by President Duterte and Indonesian President Joko Widodo as part of Widodo’s state visit and attendance to the Asean summit.
Presidential spokesman Ernesto Abella said both Duterte and Widodo welcomed the signing of the MOUs.
Abella said the MOU on agricultural cooperation will strengthen the development of the Philippine and Indonesian agriculture sectors through joint research, consultation and assistance.
He said the MOU on the the Davao-GenSan-Bitung roll-on roll-off (RORO) link establishes a direct sea connectivity while ensuring that safety standards are met.
Widodo, during the state banquet tendered by Duterte, said he is excited to go to Davao City for the RORO launch. He added that he has heard of the “very masarap” durian fruit.
Duterte, Widodo and the Philippine and Indonesian delegation dined on Smoked Salmon Roses with horseradish, green asparagus and market lettuce bouquet, Cream of Potato-Zucchini Soup, Smoked Prawns, Dill Cream, Seabass Fillet Grilled Set on Paella Rice Cake, Fennel Emulsion, Olive Tomato Compote, French Beans, Sansrival Mocha Cake, and Pineapple Lemongrass Ice Cream.
